JUNE 10-13, 2010. HOLD THAT THOUGHT!
It does not seem possible that we were elected (after a hard fought campaign) more than four years ago. So it is less than a year until Reunion 2010 and a new election.
We have met our major goals for the Class—except one. We have a solid budget, good class participation, and a wonderful website that has been fed and nurtured by Ken Schneider and a team of classmate writers. We have brought it into the 21st Century, with email addresses, personal vignettes ("Up Close and Personal"), essays of interest to the Class ("Of Human Interest"), and links to the Cornell site to stay in touch with the larger University.
If you have not done so recently, log onto our Class of ’65 website. You can get to it by going to either of the following 2 addresses:
http://classof65.alumni.cornell.edu/
www.cornell65.com
Even better, submit an Up Close and Personal so classmates can know what you've been up to and, just as interesting, to ponder the many diverse paths we have all taken since 1965. It is a wonderful little resource. And while you are at it, add to the list of classmates "definitely" or "possibly" coming to Reunion during June 10-13, 2010.
Now for the one unmet goal—to get increased attendance for and participation in our 45th Reunion next June. One of the advantages of the Class of '65 hitting age 65 is that we get better and better Reunion accommodations. Not the Statler for a few more years, but if you and your spouse remember Mary Donlon for our 25th in 1990 and swore "never again," be assured things have changed. "Come home; all is forgiven" seems to be the motto of the alumni staff that make these decisions. "Ithaca or Bust" should be the motto of our Class.
Got questions? We have a team ready to answer them to get you back (again or otherwise).
Best wishes.
